The School of Engineering and Innovation offers postgraduate study across engineering, technology and innovation management, systems thinking and environmental management.
Our postgraduate qualifications are informed by the School’s research and scholarship and by the changing needs of organisations, professions and wider society. They are designed to help students deepen their subject knowledge, develop advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, and apply their learning to complex practical situations.
We manage or contribute to flexible, nested postgraduate qualifications. Students may be able to work towards a postgraduate certificate, postgraduate diploma or master’s degree, depending on the subject selected.

Postgraduate study with The Open University is designed to fit around work and other commitments. Many students use situations from their own organisations or professional practice to explore ideas, evaluate problems and apply their learning.
Individual postgraduate modules may also be studied as part of a qualification or, where available, as standalone professional development.
Qualification structures, entry requirements, module availability, fees and study arrangements can change. Please consult the official course pages for the latest information.
