Imaging

What this lab helps me to achieve

• image your cells, tissues, or any solid samples (rocks, plants, bacteria, …)
• observe cell processes occuring in live cells
• compare expression of surface or intracellular molecules
• quantify and compare fluorescence of cells or substances
• quantify absorbance of cells or substances
• quantify luminescence of cells or substances
• distinguish cell populations based on their fluorescence or granularity
• create and analyse neuron reconstructions

Who can use it

• training will be provided
• all STEM students, academics,
• visiting researchers.

What instruments are there

• light microscopes with objectives up to 100x
• fluorescent microscopes
• confocal microscopes
• live cell imaging microscopes
• plate reader
• flow cytometer (FACS)
• Neurolucida
• remote live imaging light microscopes
• remote scanning electron microscope SEM

Where is the lab located

• Venables C & D Wing
• Perry D (remote microscopes)

Who is responsible for this lab

• Igor Kraev (light, fluorescent and confocal microscopes, Neurolucida)
• Brett Keith and George Bryant (plate reader, FACS)
