My PhD research explores the microbial communities found in natural wells and springs across the UK. I investigate how water chemistry, geology and environmental conditions shape microbial diversity, with a particular focus on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and the potential discovery of microorganisms and bioactive compounds with biotechnological applications.
