ABSTRACT: Designing data-intensive web sites is a complex task. The ad-hoc rapid prototyping approaches easily lead to unsatisfactory results, e.g. poor maintainability and extensibility. OntoWeaver approaches this problem with special focuses on user interface composition and customization design. It relies on a set of ontologies, a customization framework, and a tool infrastructure to enable the high level design and maintenance of data-intensive web sites.

This talk will be organized as follows: first, I will talk about the research background of OntoWeaver; then, I will discuss the OntoWeaver architecture and its component; thereafter, I will talk about the OntoWeaver site ontologies and the customization framework; and finally, I will present a case study about developing a customized paper review system and draw conclusions from this work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
