The School of Environment, Earth and Ecosystem Sciences contributes to postgraduate study addressing some of the most important environmental challenges facing society. Our teaching is informed by interdisciplinary research into Earth systems, environmental change, ecosystems, sustainability and the relationships between people and the natural environment.

The MSc in Environmental Management develops the knowledge and skills needed for effective, informed and creative environmental management. It examines local and global concerns including environmental protection, legislation and policy, natural resource management, pollution and sustainability.
You will develop your ability to analyse complex environmental situations, consider different stakeholder perspectives and identify ways of improving environmental performance. Options within the qualification allow you to explore related areas such as environmental science, systems thinking, project management and innovation.
The qualification has a nested structure, allowing eligible students to work towards a postgraduate certificate, postgraduate diploma or full master’s degree.

The Master of Environmental Science is an integrated master’s degree combining undergraduate and postgraduate study. It takes an interdisciplinary approach to understanding, managing and protecting the environment.
The qualification explores areas including conservation, ecology, ecosystems, environmental management, climate change, sustainability and biodiversity loss. Students also develop technical and research skills through scientific investigation, data analysis, remote sensing, climate modelling and an independent project.
As an integrated master’s degree, this qualification normally begins at undergraduate level rather than being entered after completing a first degree.
