This degree will give you a sound grasp of the principles of hardware-based, software-based, or systems-based technologies, and the ability to apply your knowledge and skills in a broad range of industries and organisations.

You can study this degree as a broad-based option, or specialise to concentrate on communications and networking, communications and software, or software.

The BSc Data Science will equip you with the key skills to explore and analyse complex data sets, and to solve practical problems using applied mathematics, statistics and computing. You’ll gain a good grounding in mathematical and statistical methods, which provide a foundation for data analysis; together with the essential computing skills needed to use them to solve practical problems, including elements of machine learning and artificial intelligence. You’ll also gain experience of using statistical software packages.

A foundation degree in Computing and IT practice followed by a top-up degree in Computing and IT Practice. The foundation degree is about acquiring skills and learning how to deploy them at work. The top-up degree will add skills and knowledge required to convert the foundation degree into a full BSc. You’ll choose from a variety of modules to suit your career goals, and complete your studies with a project on a topic based on one of your chosen modules.

You can also incorporate Computing modules into an Combined STEM degree or an Open degree.

We offer a Digital and Technology Solutions Professional Degree Apprenticeship that develops the higher-level skills and behaviours required to create confident and capable digital and technology professionals. The programme is delivered flexibly around the demands of your organisation. It provides a core set of topics for digital and technology professionals, supplemented by one of four specialisms: cyber security analyst, data analyst, software engineer, or network engineer.

BSc (Honours) Computing & IT

(Honours) Computing & IT and a second subject (Joint honours)

Foundation Degree in Computing & IT Practice

Introduction to Cyber Security (MOOC)

Studying with the OU

The OU gives you a flexible study experience that fits around your lifestyle.
